Ify is John Dumelo's new girlfriend.

Dumelo and co-star Omotola
We are all aware that John Dumelo is one of the Ghana film industry’s hot properties, not only is he a favourite amongst the majority of the Ghanaian population (especially the ladies), but he also has a number of top films under his belt- certifying his position as one of Ghana’s most talented and handsome actors.

Therefore, it is no surprise that most of the female population want a piece of this man. Mr Dumelo has been linked with a host of ladies since becoming a prominent face in Ghanaian films; some of his rumoured alleged conquests have included former co-stars such as Yvonne Nelson, and unknowns such as a female called Nnenda (a Civil Engineering Graduate and the daughter of the Former President of Nigeria’s Bar Association).

Once again, Mr Dumelo has been linked to a new love, this time, in the form of a half-Ghanaian and half-Nigerian young lady by the name of Ify.

Ify is a Fabric Designer with her own company by the name of ‘Ada-Esi Fabrics’, a source exclusively revealed to GhanaCelebrities.Com how she was present when Ify was talking on the phone to her ‘boyfriend’- none other than Mr Dumelo - during a fabric exhibition held in Nigeria, on 29th of December.

On several occasions before the said phone call, Ify had referred to Mr Dumelo as her ‘boyfriend’, and during the phone conversation- which was to enable John to briefly speak to some of his fans- she frequently called him ‘baby’, “my baby”. The source stated that although John was not present at the exhibition, there was a stand featuring only his pictures and designs.

Before the criticisms regarding the authenticity of this source begins, our source currently in Nigeria told us that, Ify and her share a mutual friend, who revealed to the source that Ify’s Blackberry profile picture is a picture of her and John together and has on numerous occasions referred to John Dumelo as her man.

Following these latest revelations, GhanaCelebrities.Com contacted John Dumelo to hear what he had to say about these latest rumours. Although Mr Dumelo did confirm that he is currently in a relationship, he also made it clear that it was not with anyone called Ify. He mentioned that Ify is a mere friend to him.citifmnews.

I have not moved to Nollywood - Van Vicker

Van Vicker in the studios of Citi FM
Although it is very obvious that Actor Van Vicker, who started his career in showbiz in Ghana, appears to have found solace in the oil rich state of Nigeria where he has become a star actor, he has told Citi FM’s Jessica Opare Saforo that he has not moved to Nollywood.

Back home in Ghana, movie lovers and producers have criticized the gentle and fresh-looking actor for neglecting the growing Ghana movie industry for Nollywood where the industry is bigger and pays well.

Others have also lauded him and urged him to fly high the flag of Ghana.

In an exclusive interview with Citi FM where he co-hosted “Host of Brunch In The Citi” with Jessica Opare Saforo, Van Vicker said he is seen to be acting more in Nigeria because the demands of the job take him there a lot.

“I haven’t moved to Nollywood. It is just that I happen to do a lot of my jobs there. It’s a little complicated managing my time between Ghana and Nigeria and Europe. I know 2011 is a different story. I am joining the producers Association in Ghana and I will be speaking to them. In 2011, I will act more Ghanaian movies. It is not as if I am not acting in Ghana because I don’t want it” he explained.

Joseph Fiifi Van Vicker noted that he is not in Nigeria because of the financial gains although he admits that the market there is bigger.

The fair-skinned Actor who is often compared to Nigerian Ramsey Nouah and fellow Ghanaian actor Majid Michel, denied suggestions that his chances in Ghana have been blocked by Majid Michel hence his decision to act in Nigeria.

Vicker was born to a Liberian mother and a Dutch father but has a Ghanaian background.

The ‘Romantic Male Actor’ is married to Adjoa Van Vicker and they have two lovely daughters.

He founded and runs the Van Vicker Foundation, an outreach program for upcoming young artists. citifm news.

Okudzeto grabs wife, flies abroad for honeymoon

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa
Credible information reaching the Daily Guide newspaper indicates that Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over the weekend emplaned to Wa, the Upper West regional capital, on a flight with his friends for a secret wedding ceremony, which ended up being the most topical subject in town.

Our sources revealed that among the entourage of the deputy minister was Dr. Omane Boamah, Deputy Minister for Environment, Science and Technology and other bigwigs in government. The Deputy Minister was said to have married Noella Seidu, a final year law student at the University of Ghana. She is the daughter of former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa Central M.A. Seidu.

Though it was an Islamic wedding ceremony, it is unclear if the groom is a Muslim or intended to be one very soon. Our information had it that Noella, a slim, dark, tall and sexy-looking, is a product of University of Ghana where she read political science and did her national service in the News Department of Metro Television in Accra. She was also used for one of the numerous NDC adverts in the run-up to the 2008 elections.

Noella was said to have lost an election at the Law Faculty when the students got to know that she was the girlfriend of the loquacious Okudzeto. It is also gathered that the former MP, whose daughter got married, is an Ahmad while his wife and daughter belong to the Fountain Gate Chapel of Rev. Eastwood Anaba. It was based on the father’s religious affiliation that the ceremony was performed in accordance with Islamic tradition.

Daily Guide sources also revealed that the couple had early planned a quiet ceremony but when the aircraft conveying Okudzeto and his entourage allegedly arrived at the Wa airstrip, it broke the usual monotony and silence of the town, drawing so much attention, which intimately led to the wedding becoming a funfair.

Other invited guests also travelled in a long convoy from Accra to Wa for the life-time ceremony. Deep throat sources say the minister and his bride left for London for their honeymoon soon after the ceremony, which attracted a number of NDC members within the Wa municipality. Checks at the Ministry of Information confirmed the Deputy Minister had not reported to office since Monday. Speculations have it that he has taken his annual leave, lending credence to suggestions the he is indeed honey-mooning outside the shores of Ghana.
